5 more basic Rules of Personal Branding! (Part 2)
The right I-brand supports you in your professional and also private development.
I mentioned the following 5 basic rules of personal branding in Part 1:
1. Have a focus.
2. Be authentic.
3. Be unique and consistent.
4. Live your brand.
5. Tell your story.
Below I give you another 5 basic rules for an appealing and unique ego brand:
6. Be prepared to fail.
You develop uniqueness by stepping out of your comfort zone, through calculated experimentation, try and error etc., i.e. a certain amount of failure is part of it. Instant perfection is more of a dream than a reality.
7. Follow successful examples.
If you want to develop your I-brand, you need to market yourself very similarly to the celebrities and influential people who are looked up to every day. Creatively analysing influencers on social media and anticipating a next big trend can be the step to high visibility and reach for you.
8. Create a positive impact.
Develop a community around your I-brand and note that you are your brand creating an impact on others. Positive impact should lead to healthy growth of your I-brand in the long run.
9. Let other people tell your story.
Personal branding specifically includes the stories other people tell about you when you are not in the room. Your I-brand is the reflection of the reputation you have earned.
10. Leave a legacy.
A personal I-brand is a lifelong project that is constantly evolving and changing. However, once you have built a reputation and community with your I-brand, there is the question of your legacy for which you can become immortally known.
